Ok so I have a 17lb miniature poodle, she eats a cup or so of food twice a day (she burns off all the calories and then some) and this bowl seems to be good for her size and food quantities. I don't see how anyone could fit anymore than a cup of food in the reservoir, so if your dog eats more than that this bowl won't be big enough. That being said the performance of the bowl is alright, she still wolfs her food but not nearly as fast as usual. She has still had some puking episodes but less frequent. I've tried some other designs of slow feeders and this seems to have worked the best for her. I also feed her about half of her regular diet eith half of a dental diet, the kibbles are bigger and take longer to chew, I think a combination of these two methods has helped the most. This bowl is also stunning in appearance and easy to wash, says its dishwasher safe but I don't recommend the dishwasher as it may leave residues of slobber and dried on dog food behind, hand washing is the most thorough method.

I bought these bowls for my weimaraners, as they have destroyed their plastic slow down bowls. These are sold as "32oz bowls", but the item description states they hold 24oz of food. When i tried to use them, 1 cup of dry food filled them completely. Out of curiosity, I filled them with water, and they overflowed prior to 16 fl oz. Good quality bowls for med or small dogs, but i would have to fill them twice each time I fed my dogs. Will be returning.

Love the bowl. It really slows my pugs eating. We feed 1/2 cup. Anything over a full cup would be too much for this size.

I bought these bowls for a 130lb malamute and a 60lb husky. The bowls barely fit 2 cups of kibble below the top and doesn't slow my dogs down a bit. The looks are amazing and I cant tell if my dogs dont distinguish the difference in the red and purple. Either dogs being color blind or mine are just unique they do not follow "their" bowls anymore just the normal feeding spot. If they were just bigger Id give them a 3 star and if they worked how they are supposed to itd be a 5.

This is a great idea for dogs who tend to gobble food but one that requires a bit more work. The dish would be better served if it had attributes that allowed it to be tossed in the dishwasher daily without damage. Similarly, I am sure that if we all thought about it we could come up with a solution for better grip than than the rubber ring around the bottom that constantly falls off in heavy use (and dogs tend to eat afterward).
Let's face it, if you buy a BIG DISH it will get used BIG TIME by a BIG DOG. If you (as an owner) care about your dog and want to keep things clean, it will inevitably go in the dishwasher (I don't care what the manufacturer's warnings say, it will go there and if it does not survive it will be tossed in the trash (as mine was)).
If you want to redesign this product to be useable by large breeds, make it dishwasher safe and find a better solution for dishes that scoot across the floor than the ridiculous ineffective rubber ring. On the other hand, the metal bowl is much better than plastic competitors (which can cause "snow nose" in larger breeds).
My advice to these guys is to build on their good idea (metal) but build a better product (dishwasher safe and rethink the rubber ring that falls off).
