I had been thinking over the last year or so of transitioning our cats to a raw food diet and the choice was finalized when our 9 year old cat passed away suddenly recently. It was totally unexpected and a devastating experience for us. He had been overweight his whole life and I believe this was the leading factor.

The experience made me completely rethink the diet of our other 2 cats and I found this product to be a good first foot into the raw food world.

But for the product itself, It's exactly as described small chunky "bits" or freeze dried (not frozen) chunks of chicken. It's easy to handle, not gooey or messy as I thought it might be after re-hydrating. One cat was iffy but soon found she liked it, not as much as her dry food but it's a start. The other is being more stubborn. But if you based reviews on cat reactions then all cat related items would be hit and miss.

The only complaint I have, and it's a small one, is that it only instructs to "rehydrate with warm water or serve as is". Well, rehydrate how much? Should it be moist and mushy? Or just enough to be more chewy? (I'd never serve as is, they are hard chunks). I guess it's left up to me to find out how my cats like it... But I went through over half the bag essentially wasted before I realized my cats like it when I break up the chunks and re-hydrate them enough to where it's stringy and mushy. Pretty much what you would expect fresh dead prey flesh would be like to a wild cat.

All in all if you're wanting to take the plunge into raw food, this is a great choice before jumping into buying a food grinder and other equipment.

I'll definitely look at their other selections of food for cats.

Stella & Chewy's is brilliant! I've been trying out raw foods with my cats on-and-off for maybe a year, and I've definitely had the most luck with this product. Obviously I can't attest to the taste myself, but my cats seem to really love the taste.

Like the first reviewer, I was initially confused about the rehydration process, but after some experimenting I've concluded that 1) it is best served really wet and mushy, and 2) like with any new food, it is best to start your cat out gradually.

My 12-week-old kitten has eaten Stella and Chewy's his whole life, and he likes it quite mushy--I'll even pour some extra water over the dish after mashing it up, just to get some extra liquid into him.

One of my adult cats initially rejected the rehydrated food, but after tasting some of the product dry (I crushed the chunks for her and served as a treat) she developed a serious taste for it. Unfortunately, this led to a short bout of projectile vomiting--I'm not sure if it was because she was overeating (I free-feed and she doesn't normally do this, but again, she REALLY liked the taste), or if it was simply because it was a new food/her system was adjusting to the raw, or a little of both.

If this happens to you, take heart! I solved the problem by first treating her upset tummy by cutting off food for 6-8 hours and giving her some Pedialyte for any dehydration.

When I started feeding her again, I cut back on the amount of S&C I was giving her, then over the course of a week or two, I built it back up to a normal serving size. She hasn't had any problems with it since. I now also make sure the food is really, really well hydrated and mushy--Sometimes cats will accidentally overeat and vomit on dry foods because they underestimate the amount they're consuming, only to have the dry food expand in their stomachs after coming into contact with liquid.

My third cat pretty much won't eat anything but dry kibble, but I guess you can't please everyone. :)

I was pleasantly surprised to see my cat likes this food. I rehydrate with about 1/3 cup very warm water and mash up with a fork. My cat drinks all the juice first then comes back throughout the day and by night finishes it all up. He prefers this to kibble, which I still provide in a grain-free premium form. I am thrilled not to have to worry about buying cans anymore OR cutting up raw chicken every night to supplement canned & kibble. This is much easier. I am very pleased.

Honest reviews on Stella & Chewy's Chick Chick Chicken Dinner Freeze Dried Cat Food

My poor cat has had digestive issues for a long time and we've finally discovered that he probably has Inflammatory Bowel Disorder. Despite all of the very good quality wet and dry foods he's had for several years, he lost 5 pounds over the past year. He won't touch any raw diets. The only thing that he seemed to like was freeze dried chicken breast treats. So I went looking for a simple freeze dried nutritionally complete food and found this. The other complete freeze dried foods I found include fruits and other odd unnecessary ingredients and are a very fine powder. This is just chicken, a little pumpkin seed, and the supplements needed to bring it up to feeding guidelines in nice chunks. He will happily eat it 5 times a day crumbled up with a little extra chicken breast or parmesan cheese. Like the treats, I feed it to him dry because he won't eat it wet but I do give him a small bowl of diluted plain chicken broth at the same time. After less than two weeks he is already more energetic and has stopped vomiting. His breath no longer smells like he is rotting from the inside, and his poop doesn't smell either. I am so relieved to have found this. Thank you, Stella and Chewy's for making this food.

What can I say. I was highly skeptical that I could get any of them to eat raw. I wasn't even sure raw was the way to go, but last week I just got fed-up and disgusted with all the additives I found in ALL the canned food.

I probably spend over $400.00 per month feeding four cats. Yes, it is expensive to feed animals properly. I was using what I consider the "best" canned grain/gluten free food available. Pick your choice, they are all basically the same. But when I looked at the ingredients again, for the umpteenth time, and after getting an education from catinfo and catnutrition, I realized that all these fillers and additives, especially the various "gum based" additives are not good for them. So, I went on a personal hunt for something else to feed them. My favorite pet food guys over at Healthy Tails in Las Vegas gave me some generous samplings of both frozen and freeze-dried raw and to my surprise they all like Stellas. I introduced it very slowly, just two to four nuggets a feeding. Its now been a week and Kevin will not wait for it to rehydrate before he goes in the sink, lifts off the pot lid and steals a piece before I can put it in the bowls. Even Steve, the finicky one who will ABSOLUTELY not try anything new (even treats) will now eat it. I still mix it with Tiki Puka Puka canned and will probably continue to do so.

The downside...its expensive to feed cats a healthy diet. They probably eat better than I do.

I had decided to reorganize my canned goods, so that the oldest items would rotate to the front. My pantry shelves pull out, but are limited in height. To get started, I ordered five Copco Dispensers, and they worked quite well for MOST of the cans. However, they couldn't accomodate the larger, ready-to-serve soups (think Progesso or Campbell) I searched for something that WOULD suffice, even if a bit unconventional. After reading the description about the IRIS Wire Canned Dog Food Dispenser, I decided to take a chance and ordered two units. They arrived in just a few days, and All I can say is "Wow!!!" The IRIS Wire Canned Dog Food Dispenser is PERFECT for "People" food, too! My Progresso soup cans fit well, enabling me to put the oldest ones in first, simply dropping the newer ones in the top of the rack. This is a terrific storage product and I will definitely order more!

Regular soup/can dispensers are great, but they don't typically fit the larger size cans of Progresso soups. This dispenser however fits them perfectly! Like the picture shows, I think 6 or 7 cans of Progresso will fit on this dispenser. Saved me a ton of room in my pantry pullout drawer by utilizing some vertical space.

This product is perfect for dog food storage. The only downside is that it is a little flimsy, being just a few pieces of bent wire, but you get what you pay for with $9. I keep my dog's canned food (used as a reward or kibble mix-in) in pallets and fill the dispenser with an assortment so I don't have to either keep the pallets in the kitchen or trek to the storage room every time I need a new can. I just wish IRIS made a larger one to hold more cans!

When the cat was boarded at the vets, I left some for treats. Upon returning they laughed and said this was like "crack" for the cat. He has learned to stand on his hind feet on top of an overturned 5 gal bucket to grab for the salmon chunks. Loves this stuff so do the dogs!!

I love them too, because this treat isn't junk food. Just pure salmon. I wish there were more dog treats out there that didn't have so many ingredients filled with grains and preservatives. This way you can give a reward and know its also healthy!

Oh, and btw, I think they are advertised as cat treats. The chunks are quite large. For kitties, best to break them up. Last longer anyway, they aren't cheap!

We have two very active dogs who can get dog aggressive, but we were also having some training issues so these collars provided an excellent solution for us. Not only can we just carry around one remote (instead of two) but it has a lot of features that we have found useful.

Has a tone function that we can use for training

Has 100 settings we found that unlike some of the other collars we can set the two dogs at different levels

Has a light functionso we can see the dogs at night when we are out.

There are a LOT of things that this control can do so be sure to read the manual but we have had great luck with it so far. Previously we had sportdog collars and while those worked for awhile eventually they broke and they did not have as many functions as these collars do.

Unlike most pet owners in the world, I have fed my dogs high quality foods for years, with Acana pacifica being one of them. I don't buy it from amazon but get it by subscription from a pet food site for 54 bucks shipped for the large size.

what do I like about this food?

dogs are carnivores with an identical internal anatomy of the wolf. dogs do not need carbs, veggies or grains. Acana is much higher in meat than a lot of other foods, and has no grains.

firm stools! Out of all of the foods I've used, including, wellness core, TOTW canidae, acana, evo, acana always proves to give firm stools, second only to taste of the wild.

Acana is ethoxyquin free

Acana also does not denature their foods.

cons-

price....a little pricey, but on subscription it is very reasonable.

bag is not resealable

customer service sucks..never answers emails or phone calls.

I also think that, while Acana has a lot of meat content, it doesn't hold a candle to foods like , orijen evo. Orijen is made by the same company as acana, and is 80 percent meat as oppose to 60 with acana...but acana is less rich an my pup does better on it :)...I think 65 percent meat would be perfect for acana, but 60 percent is still working fine for us.

to close,

I'd recommend this food if you want to feed your pets a high quality diet that is better than 95 percent of the foods out there but are on a budget and can't feed a raw diet or a diet such as orijen. (or your Dogs JUST do Better ON THIS THAN orijen)

Our three pooches get a Beefeaters Munchy Stick every day, usually in the evening. They look forward to this daily ritual with great anticipation. When the treats are presented to the three girls, each assumes her position apart from the others and commences chewing. Between five and ten minutes the Stix are history, and three happy girls are searching for some fortuitous crumbs. We've been following this routine for years and the dogs have never tired of these chew treats. We do vary the flavor of the Stix, and have even purchased Beefeater variations on the theme that target the coat, calm jittery nerves, or help build cartilage with glucosamine. Occasionally we've run out of Beefeeaters and had to substitute other brands while waiting for our mail order supply to arrive. Our pooches seem to prefer the Beefeaters brand.

No matter which flavor we choose, the girls love their Beefeaters Munchies.

Initially, I started buying this product because it is not made in China which had so many recalls. I also was looking for ground raw hide chews that did not have chicken or beef since one of my dogs is allergic to that.

In addition to all of the other premises, my dogs seem to enjoy these chews so much! They're totally safe also since they desintegrade in their mouth while, at the same time, they help keep their teeth in good shape and clean.

I always like to try any treats that combine healthy benefits like probiotics or glucosamine/chondroitin etc. Always a great concept to try to get these into your dogs easily in the form of a tasty treat. I bough the Tummy and the Hip/Joint Cloud Star Functional Treats. My two dogs unfortunately did not find either of them to be a treat. I have ended up grinding them up into their dog food so they at least can benefit from the lactobacillus acidophilus, glucosamine, and chondroitin sulfate in the "treats". Plus, absolutely vital that these treats are made in USA (I also will purchase dog foods made in Canada or New Zealand as well).

If your dogs find them tasty, go for it. Made in USA by a very reputable company like Cloud Star with the supplemental benefits offeredmake them a great goodie for your loved furry beasts-if they take to them. Too bad my picky dogs don't find them tasty.

I have a confession to make: I don't own a dog. However, I do have a lot of little doggy friends I puppysit on a weekly basis that will happily volunteer to test new treats and toys if it's for the betterment of caninekind. So when Swaggable gave me the chance to try Dynamo Dog Functional Treats (Hip & Joint Formula) for free, I didn't hesitate. Too many hopeful dog ears perked up waiting for my response.

Three weeks later, I received a plastic sample bag with five Cheese & Bacon flavored treats inside. The treats were soft to the touch and easy to cut in half. I immediately noticed the ingredients labeled prominently on the package and, the more I read, the more impressed I became.

Dynamo Dog Functional Treats (Hip & Joint Formula) are Grain Free, Gluten Free, and made with quality all-natural ingredients including: pork, chickpea flour, potato flour, tapioca starch, maple syrup, bacon, cheddar cheese, carrots, apples, spinach, cherries, sweet potatoes, cranberries, yucca, salmon oil, and even green-lipped mussel. They also contain Glucosamine HCL and Chondroitin Sulfate, which help relieve arthritis pain and restore cartilage.

My doggy volunteers -Ellie, a precocious Weimaraner, and Daisy, a basset hound who must've been a goat in a past life because she likes to climb on everything in the house -were super excited to get the taste test underway. They sniffed the air the minute I cut the sample packet open and crowded my legs eagerly in anticipation.

I gave them two treats each and they both gulped them down, barely taking the time to lick their chops before begging me for more.

Now I wouldn't be a very good reviewer, or pet lover, if I wasn't willing to try the treats myself... Yes, you read that right, I actually sliced the end off of one of the treats and ate it. I'm happy to say that it tasted quite good, much like beef jerky, and I didn't experience any ill effects or upset tummy afterwards.

Unfortunately, while I was preoccupied with my own personal taste test, Miss Daisy (the billy goat disguised as a basset hound) managed to climb up onto the counter and snag the last treat for herself -to poor Ellie's utter disappointment. So now I'm off to the store in search of more dynamic doggy goodness!

Our 3 year old Australian Cattle dog mix loves this Kong. Once she got the hang of it ( after about 5 minutes ) she chases this around the house with her paws and her snout, growling at it, trying to get her "reward". We sometimes use this with her regular dog food to "jump start" her interest in meals. She has a lot of fun with it and it is very entertaining for us and our friends watching her playing. I have attached a video showing a little of her playtime.

Be aware of one thing the toy is a little heavy and some hard plastic so it does bang around some.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Apart from a bully stick, interactive toys that dispense treats are the most effective way to keep my 18 lb terrier mix busy and mentally occupied. We've bought several of them: The Buster Mini Cube (made of *very* hard plastic and too noisy even on a carpeted floor), StarMark Bob-A-Lot (one of the best although it's light enough for him to throw it around and make a lot of noise), and the Premier Busy Buddy Tug-A-Jug (also effective but again somewhat light and hard).

Benji has never had trouble figuring out how to play with any of these and although he destroys plush toys in a flash, he hasn't been able to do any damage to these. The problem with all three of them is that they are just too noisy for him to play with in our living room very early in the morning when we want him occupied but our neighbor in the apartment next door is sleeping.

So when I saw the Kong Wobbler online it looked like it might be the best yet. I tried to find the toy in various retail stores, but it is new, and none of them carried it. So I ordered it without knowing anything about it but a photo. I assumed it would be that hard rubber traditional Kongs are made from and that even if Benji threw it around it would be less noisy.

Upon arrival I realized the toy is nothing like what I imagined but that's not necessarily a bad thing. First of all the thing is huge, which I couldn't tell from the photo. It is almost as tall as the Bob-A-Lot. I'm not sure a dog much smaller than Benji could manipulate it satisfactorily and Kong recommends it for medium to large dogs. It's also made of *very* hard plastic which I think a lot of dogs would find very unsatisfying to chew compared to a traditional Kong. Another drawback is that the hole the treats fall out of is way too big for kibble and unlike the Bob-A-Lot, the hole is not adjustable. I made the hole smaller with scotch tape and the toy works fine.

So why would you consider the Kong Wobbler in favor of the other toys? It's *heavy*. I mean really surprisingly heavy compared to the others. The other toys are light enough so that Benji can grasp them in his front paws and propel the toy across the room where they bang against furniture. It's fun to watch but nerve wracking. The Kong Wobbler is just too heavy for for him to "toss" (although he's giving it his best shot while I type this). So the toy rolls around on the rug rather than flying through the air.

Any of these toys would be great for a dog with a yard. For use in an apartment, I'd give the Wobbler a slight edge. It is also a little bit less expensive than the Bob-A-Lot and the Tug-A-Jug. I can't really recommend the Buster Cube for indoor use. It's like letting young kids play with a baseball in the living room

Best Deals for Kong Wobbler Dog Food And Treat Dispenser

I was immediately intrigued by this toy when I saw it as it clearly was designed similar to the CLIX Pyramid Dog Toy but with the very nice addition of a removable top. So much easier to fill! I was excited to try it and see how well it worked.

Unfortunately, what I didn't realize from the photo was how close to the base that holds the food the hole is! You would think the food is all the way in the bottom but there's a shelf inside that it sits on and its not that far from the hole at all (it's at the bottom of the word KONG when you look at the closeup photo). The hole itself is a bit larger as well, so if you have a small dog and are using fairly small kibble/treats, more will come out at a time due to the larger hole size.

Now, for a dog that's never used a puzzle toy like this, they'll still take some time to figure it out. But my dog who has played with other puzzle toys very easily figured out how to empty this one in just minutes (the Pyramid takes him 3-4 times as long due to the smaller hole and how high it is on the toy).

So it depends on your needs, how fast a learner your dog is and how long you want him to spend with the toy. For mine, this isn't really challenging enough. I love the ease of filling it, but really wish they had not put the hole so low.

Honest reviews on Kong Wobbler Dog Food And Treat Dispenser

My solution:

As other reviewers stated, the kong shaped hole on the wobbler is indeed quite big and set very low on the toy. Food was coming out in chunks, way too easy. I tried putting a tennis ball inside the wobbler, but only made it worse. Because of the weight of the ball, the wobbler would not balance anymore. So for another quick solution, I put some electrical tape to cover 2/3 of the hole from the bottom. It worked! Now it was 5 times harder to get the kibble, and only one or two kibble at a time will fall out. But, the tape didn't last long. It started to rip and fall out. So then I took a hot glue gun and covered about 1/2 of the hole from the bottom. To prevent my dog wanting to try to chew on the molded glue with his front teeth, I covered glue's surface with masking tape. Masking tape adheres well and is very thin so it's like nothing's there. Kibble now falls out at decent speed. I might go back and cover the hole some more with hot glue to make it more challenging. When you do it, just make sure the hole is at least the size of the kibble/treat!

Actual review: I love this toy. It is very easy to fill in the kibble, and is easy to clean due to the smooth surfaces throughout. Material is softer than the hard plastic of buster cube, so it won't make a lot of noise and engraves teeth marks. Shell is thick so it seems durable though. Bottom seems to be filled with sand. With the hot glue mod it is another toy to keep my dog working for his daily kibble!

We bought this for our hyperactive, 6-month-old, 40-lb. lab mix with the hopes that it would be one more thing to occupy her and maybe even tire her out a bit. In spite of the fact that she gets a couple hours of hard exercise a day, she still has way too much energy to burn.

The Kong Wobbler was exactly what we'd hoped for. When we filled it with kibble and introduced it to her the first time, she immediately figured out how to whack it about with her paw in order to get the food out; she was very happy with it. Now she gets all of her kibble in the Wobbler. When she paws the Wobbler, the kibble comes out at a rate fast enough to keep her interest, but slow enough to give us a bit of peace.

The Wobbler is extremely well made. Its base is a solid hemisphere weighing almost two lbs. Its top is hollow with walls about 3/16" thick; the top screws onto the base. The whole thing is made of hard plastic, though softer and thicker than that of the Buster Cube (Buster Food Cube Large Size (Colors May Vary)). Unlike the BC, the Wobbler is relatively quiet the sound of the kibble moving inside of the Wobbler and the sound of the Wobbler on a hard floor are both muffled by the thicker, softer plastic (the Wobbler also gets slightly scratched and abraded with use, unlike the BC, but I don't see this as a problem).

Our dog can't get its mouth around the Wobbler, but a very large dog would probably be able to pick it up at the narrow top end. The Wobbler seems large and tough enough to withstand any attempts at crushing it, though.

All in all, I highly recommend it!

This is much healthier for the birds than seed. Buying this large size seems excessive for one cockatiel, but I have a rolling storage bin (also available here at Amazon) and empty it into there. Keeps it free from moths and is easy to dish out. Much more reasonably priced in this large bulk size. Zupreem is all I'll feed my birds.
