The ingredient list is interesting -reads like a salad bar, with all sorts of fruits and vegetables -potatoes, peas, beet pulp, cranberries, apples, carrots, and broccoli. Who knew? I'm guessing that dogs don't get beets and broccoli in their natural habitat. The bag has a big "Grain Free" banner across the front, but the second listed ingredient is potatoes, followed by peas, pea protein concentrate, and potato starch. I don't know if potatoes as a replacement for grain is all that beneficial to dogs -but it's probably better than corn filler. Since Hills purports to be the brand preferred by veterinarians, it must be pretty healthy. The label reads "adult 1-6, but I couldn't find any explanation of what that means. I'm assuming it is for dogs aged 1 to 6.
The package boasts of the following benefits:
-Prebiotic fibers from beet pulp contribute to good digestive health
-Natural, high-quality ingredients plus vitamins, minerals and amino acids; no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives
-Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acides from flaxseed and soybean oil promote a radiant and luxurious coat
-High-quality chicken helps maintain a healthy heart; vitamins E & C support your dog's immune system and promote healthy vision
This is kind of pricey -but for me, the large bag will last forever. Doubt that is the case if you have several big dogs around the house, and this could get expensive in a hurry.
Overall, I was pretty impressed, but I'm not sure I would shell out this kind of money for dog food on an ongoing basis.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This food marks a new and welcome direction for Hill's Science Diet dog foods. In the past, Science Diet gained much of its reputation through being sold in veterinarians' offices, implying that vets considered it a superior food. In reality, it was a lower quality, grain-based formula with great marketing, including about a 40% profit margin for vets who sold it.The Hill's Science Diet grain-free line is a great improvement in the Science Diet formulas. Although it still contains some questionable carbohydrates (potatoes, for example), they are not ones usually implicated in allergies, as wheat and corn are (by "questionable" I don't mean potatoes are a bad ingredient, just that whether dogs derive good nutrition from them is questionable). A high-quality protein source, chicken, is the #1 ingredient.
My dog ate this eagerly, but that doesn't really mean much with this particular dog, who eats anything eagerly, including some things I don't consider edible at all. She did have just a touch of digestive upset when we first switched over; however, she's doing fine on it now. I feed a variety of high-quality pet foods, and Hill's Science Diet Grain Free will have a place in the lineup.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have been using Hills's Science Diet in a different variety. I was feeding their Adult Lamb Meal & Rice Recipe Small Bites dog food and my dogs love it.They love the taste of this one too. It's first ingredient is chicken, then potatoes and yellow peas.
My dogs love this high quality food. I feel good giving my dogs what they need.
It does cost more, but looking at the ingredients of some cheaper dog foods can be quite an eye opener.
I want my dogs healthy and happy.
For me this food ensures that I am feeding my dog one of the most nutricious foods there is.
