I have a two year old yorkie-poo rescue who is a picky eater. When we got her you could feel her ribs and backbone prominently. The rescue group, as they had so many dogs, fed a poor quality dry kibble. She has been on Freshpet chicken, veggie, rice for about two weeks and I think she would eat the whole role at once if we let her!! She is filling out and seems happier, probably because she is FEELING better. She has some wicked tear stains in her eyes and we are working on that. That is one reason we chose Freshpet -no corn or wheat. We think we may have a systemic yeast problem. Will purchase a probiotic to add to her food for a few months to see if that helps the suspected yeast and tear stains. Her skin is not dry, although she licks her paws some and licks people. BUT, her skin has a tinge of gray to it instead of pink. Can't wait to see what she looks like in three months! With time, love and good quality food, I think she will blossom. She is such a good little girl and cute as can be.

I have been feeding my 45 lb. labradoodle Deli Fresh refrigerated dog food loaf (chicken) for about a month now. She really loves it and sits by her bowl in the morning waiting for me to serve it to her. Before Deli Fresh, she was pretty blasé about her meals. Now, she sits drooling and eager to eat. I happen to get it from BJs wholesale club, but it's the same stuff that Amazon is offering. However, I get the 6 lb. roll from BJs for $9.99, so it's a great value when compared to quality canned dog food, which typically costs more than $2 per 13 oz can. It appears that they mix the veggies and rice in with the chicken matrix fairly late in the cycle because the diced carrots and whole grains of rice are plainly visible in the loaf.
