I wanted a mat that was plain and simple, would basically keep her from pushing her bowls around, and catch any spills when we walk into her water I'd like to blame Izzy, but honestly, most water spills are human error and not furkid.
The Platinum Pets mat is a good size, her food and water bowl fit easily. The little silicone lip keeps in spills of both food and those one or two stray dog food bits that always seem to escape.
I do take issue with clear, though I'm not sure how it could be described better. When I think clear I think transparent, see through, glass like, instead this is opaque, a filmy whitish color. It doesn't bother me but just a heads up.

The product description does say this mat is made of silicon, but I didn't fully think about how that material would perform as a feeding mat. The silicon (like most/all silicon) has almost a sticky texture which means it attracts dust, food particles, and hair like crazy. So be prepared to have a grimy mat until you throw it in the dish washer.
I like the mat but idk if I would buy it again.

I have looked everywhere for a feeding mat...especially one that is durable and keeps spills in place. This one is perfect...it is a good size,holds in some splashed water, and looks nice....Be cautioned,however.... The mat is not clear....more like a milky white....I am still happy I found it!

This mat is the perfect size. It's large enough to fit even the largest food and water bowls and small enough that it's never in the way. I've cleaned it a few times now and haven't had any issues. Wipe down to clean and it dries quickly.

My cat has a curious tendency to stick both of his paws in his water dish while drinking and manages to splash water all over my hardwood floor. This product completely protects floor, is really easy to clean and was reasonably priced. I'm very happy with my purchase--though I wish it came in other colors.
