I bought the 6 inch bowl for our new 18 lb. puppy after having been so happy with the purchase of the larger 8 inch bowl for our 55 lb. boxer mix dog. Like its bigger counterpart, the bowl is dishwasher safe and has survived washing without breakage or chipping. It has not chipped when mixing dry and canned dog food inside. Even shaking a metal spoon against the rim to loosen the dog food has not caused breakage.

I bought these bowls after deciding to switch from plastic bowls to a ceramic bowl because we heat the food in the microwave, especially the remainder of the canned food that has been refrigerated after opening. We started microwaving the dogfood after having read in the New Skete dog books that cold food can be hard on the digestion. The Petrageous Designs City Pets Bowl is microwave-safe and does not get hot or even slightly warm after microwaving for 20 seconds. I still let the food itself cool a very short time before allowing my dogs to eat it.

A label on the bowl states the bowl's adherence to FDA standards although there are no details what exactly those standards are. It would have been nice if more information had been provided on this topic.

The design is attractive without being too cute or jumbled with designs. What you cannot see from the image is that the side of the bowl has a tan stripe decorated with alternating white and dark brown bones in a row but separate from each other. In short, the Petrageous Designs City Pets Bowl is the best dog bowl I have ever owned in decades of dog ownership. This bowl would make a great gift to any friend or family member who has recently adopted or purchased a dog. Very highly recommended! If you have 2 different sized dogs, the different sizes match in appearance. Both bowls fit together on our larger microwave tray.

The bowl is nice, but it was a bit smaller than I expected. Yes I did see the 6" diameter. I thought that was the inside diameter. No, the 6" is measured from the outside rim.

Our dogs like their food heated and petrageous bowls ccan be microwaved they do not get hot (no lead in the bowl or paint) and the 6 inch bowls are the perfect size for medium sized dogs.

I do love this bowl and it is exactly as shown and durable (even though it is ceramic, it hasn't broken yet and we have the dogs knocking them into each other and the vacuum hits them as well). The colors are perfect as they are neutral and there is a cute dog bone on the bottom of the dish. If you have to have your dog dishes out in the open kitchen as I do, these are not an eye-sore.

My only complaint is that the 6" measurement is from outer rim to outer rim; so it doesn't really give you a true measurement of what the inside rim to inside rim is (that is actually 5.5"). This isn't such a big deal for this dish since we only put food in it, but it doesn't hold a lot. Cute though!

This is a great water bowl for my dog. It looks just like the picture which goes exactly with the color decor of my kitchen. Light weight which is a plus.
