While my dog is not a hunting dog, she is a very high energy dog and regular dog food just wasn't cutting it. I feed the rest of my dogs the regular Iams chunks which has around 350 calories per cup, whereas this has 440+ per cup. Based on her size, my vet said she should require between 850-900 calories to maintain a healthy weight. After a severe intestinal illness that required surgery and almost two weeks of not being able to eat, my poor girl had become very very thin. You could see her hips, it was terrible. I was looking for something with higher calories, and frankly, there wasn't much available. What was available was $60-$70 a bag! I went to the Iams website and found this product. I bought my first bag and it lasted well over a month (close to 6 weeks). It appears that at least for now, my girl needs 1400 calories a day and this product enables me to feed her that without feeding her an unreasonable volume of food. Within the use of the first bag my girl gained all of her lost weight back, and has even gained more (which the vet said she needed to do). Her coat is gorgeous, she is happy and loves the food. I hope this product becomes more widely available as I have to get it at Walmart and I don't like to shop there. Thanks, Iams!!

I wanted a higher protein/fat ratio than the regular IAMS formula and the competing brands were simply priced too high. This formula met all my requirements and my lab is doing very well on it. He has plenty of energy and a nice coat. And you can't beat having it delivered to your front door. Plus I couldn't even find it in my area. So I am pleased.

I cannot say too much for this product. My Lab did not like it. And I have seen that other Iams products have recently been recalled.

So no more Iam s for my dogs.

So, I have five dogs, and they like to eat. I really appreciate the subscription service. Plus, my dogs love this food. My elderly dog had been losing muscle mass in a worrying manner, but the high protein content has helped him regain some of his muscle.
