This product really works on the arthritis in her joints and it is so easy to use. Using pills and capsules in the past were almost impossible to get down her because of the taste. This product is simple to use and cost effective when you consider we had to buy "pill pockets" to hid the tablets.

This is one of the few brands of dog food that actually makes my 13 year old 100 pound rottweiler feel good. He has very sensitive skin and the high dollar "vet recommended" brands just make his skin break out and itch all over . My dog was raised on all purina products , particularly Beneful "original". The fact that he is a breed that normally lives 8-10 years and he is 13 years old speaks volumes about the diet he was raised on. He has never been to the vet for those 13 years other than for vaccinations. I highly recommend Beneful original and healthy weight and healthy radiance brands. The active dog formula did however irritate his skin just like the expensive "blue" or vet recommended brands. Other than that , an endangered species animal research scientist , who was also a very close personal friend, recommended purina years ago because they found that to be excellent food for their animals (dog and wolf breeds included). Turns out that friends advice was wise and accurate.
I recommend to stay far away from Beneful, and most Purina products. When purchasing a dog (or cat) food, the most important thing to consider is the first 3 ingredients; just make sure those first three are decent ingredients that you would eat yourself. Now that I know what to look for, I usually buy my pets all natural, organic foods such as Blue Buffalo, Halo or Wellness.
DO NOT BUY DOG FOOD FROM THIS SOURCE. IF IT'S SPOILED LIKE MINE WAS, YOU WON'T GET ANY CREDIT FOR IT. THEY WON'T EVEN RESPOND.

I bought this dog food because the bag showed pictured of veggies and chunks of meat, and with a name like "Beneful" I thought I was purchasing a nutritious brand of dog food. My dogs did eat this food, but after reading the ingredients I completely regret purchasing it and feel just awful for feeding it to my dogs. The first three ingredients are Ground yellow corn, chicken by-product meal, and corn gluten meal. How disgusting is that?! The main ingredient is a corn filler. One thing my vet told me a while back that I never forgot: "When you eat corn, what comes out of the other end? The same thing happens with dogs." Basically, dogs cannot digest corn, it is just a filler and causes them to actually eat more to feel full, poop out more, and retain less nutrients. The only meat in Beneful at all is a by-product, its not even a real meat! By-products are the stuff leftover once all the actual meat is harvested. We're talking beaks, chicken feet, eyeballs, even chicken poop! I would not recommend this product to anyone, for any reason, ever. It is an absolutely awful dog food. I can't believe the pictures of veggies and full chunks of meat on the bag can be allowed to be on the packaging of such a disgusting product; it is very misleading and should be considered false advertising.I recommend to stay far away from Beneful, and most Purina products. My dogs enjoy all the Beneful flavors. I wanted the healthy radiance so their coats would look good and it worked.Honest reviews on Purina Beneful Dog Food
I received this dogfood as ordered & on time. My dogs eat this dogfood on a regular basis. They would not eat this dogfood. I checked the expiration date on the bag & it was fine. I stuck my nose into the bag & found it did not smell right. It had a sour smell. And my dogs are not picky eaters, but they turned away from this. I had to throw the entire bag out! So I was very disastified with this product.DO NOT BUY DOG FOOD FROM THIS SOURCE. IF IT'S SPOILED LIKE MINE WAS, YOU WON'T GET ANY CREDIT FOR IT. THEY WON'T EVEN RESPOND.

So I got this dachshund and when I first got her she would not eat dry dog food and it did not matter the brand. Now I cannot attest for the healthiness of the food but I can tell you what it looks and smells like. The bits are fairly good size some around the size of a thumbnail and may be a little to big for a dachshund and the smell isn't off putting and not strong like some other dry dog foods. I do not use this as my primary dog food though. I use the prepared Beneful meals and use the dry dog food as filler and mix it in with the wet food. She tends to avoid any of the bits that are not mixed in well but I leave the food in her bowl and she munches on it throughout the day. I will say the only reason I got this was for the Beneful name and I may experiment with other foods but for what I use it for it does the trick.Cheap Iams Savory Sauce for Active Maturity Dogs
When I first started to use IAMS Savory Sauce, my dogs loved it. After a few weeks, they don't seem to care too much for it anymore. They still get a little drizzle in their kibble every once in a while, and will eventually eat it when they are hungry, but they don't consider it to be a treat anymore. I still buy it once in a blue moon when it is on sale because of it contains vitamins and its decently priced, and low calorie. One big negative I have noticed about it is that their face is getting dirty from it. They are white dogs and this product tends to cause increased tear and around-the-mouth stains. I used to buy all different flavors of IAMS Savory Sauce, buy my groomer told me the chicken flavor is best as the beef and pork based flavors can cause an even worse increase in face staining. VitaGravy is a similar product that contains more vitamins, so if your must have some sort of gravy, I recommend VitaGravy a bit more. Or you can also just mix in some warm water with your dog food and let it sit for a bit before you feed it to your dog. This creates a "gravy" like texture and aroma that most dogs love. Not the greatest idea if your dog has dental issues, but a great free solution for picky eaters.

This is a top-notch quality dog food that does NOT contain horse meat as most dog foods do. This product is made from real chicken just like we eat. Purina has gone to great lengths to perfect this product and has shown to really care about providing a wholesome alternative to the disgusting, inhumanely manufactured, regular commercially available dog food. If you truly care about your dog then you will want to spend a few dollars more and treat your dog to a real diet rather than last week's runner up at the local horse race.

What's not to like about these potato heavy treats with fish and limited ingredients. These small breed treats are just the right size for our two girls with petite mouths. I like that they can be finger-broken easily to make them even smaller. After some intitial hesitation because of the newness factor, the girls asked for more treats with enthusiasm.
I do have a couple minor quibbles about these sweet potato and fish treats. One would assume that sweet potato and fish would be predominate ingredients. However sweet potato is listed second after dried potatoes and salmon is listed fifth, right after cane molasses. Further down the list whitefish meal is listed after canola oil. I think these treats should be called Natural Treats With Sweet Potato and Fish.
On the front of the package L.I.T. is listed prominently. The letters are an acronym for limited ingredient treats. One scanning the package quickly might subconsciously or subliminally register Lite and think these are low calorie treats. I'm sure this was not the intention of Natural Balance.
Despite my quibbles, I think these are worthwhile snacks with understandable ingredients. I'd certainly buy them again.
You hate to not be able to "reward" them, with something other than
their regular food. So, these are just the ticket. These are especially
nice for a smaller dog (I have a Dachshund, who has developed allergies
as he's gotten older). They haven't caused any gastro-intestinal problems
for my dog at all/or made his skin break out; and he is on a Vet ordered
Salmon diet.
Isn't getting old grand?
The days of eating rich and juicy table scraps are past. Come to think of it, the days of our family eating rich foods has past as well. Anyway, we buy dog food and treats that won't upset Brandy and Rosie's stomach.
On the advice of our veterinarian, we switched to the Natural Balance Potato and Duck Formula Dog Treats after our dogs developed skin problems. We also purchased the Natural Balance Turkey, Oatmeal and Cranberry Dog Treats. Our dogs liked the turkey, oatmeal and cranberry treats but our mini-schnauzer continued to scratch away.
Next, we tried Nature Balance's Sweet Potato and Fish Formula and the Sweet Potato and Bison Meal Formula, which is a grain-free treat with no corn, soy, or wheat. We now alternate between these formulas and the Potato and Duck Formula for both dogs.
Brandy and Rosie receive a treat after relieving themselves in the back yard, so they get 4-5 of these treats per day. The Natural Balance dog treats are smaller than most of the other brands we purchased before. That has been a nice change since we do not want to feed the dogs too many calories outside their regular evening meal.
In summary, we recommend all of these Nature Balance formulas. The Natural Balance Turkey, Oatmeal and Cranberry Dog Treats is the only formula we no longer buy for our mini-schnauzer, although our cockapoo can still eat them.

I write MacAnswers, a question/answer column for Great Scots Magazine, a publication for Scottish Terrier owners. The question I wanted to tackle for the September/October issue was about allergies. However, I was tempted to put that subject on the back burner since entire books can be written on allergies in dogs and how to control them. Fortunately, I found Dr. Messonnier's book The Allergy Solution for Dogs. This new book does indeed provide the solution for dog owners who are willing to invest more time and interest in solving their dog's discomfort than a monthly trip to the vet for a steroid injection. Dr. Messonnier's holistic approach to allergies makes sense, and I highly recommend this book to any dog owner who is dealing with the frustrations of a dog that itches and itches. Breeds the book lists which have an especially high incidence of atopic dermatitis, a genetic disease which predisposes dogs to skin allergies are: West Highland White Terriers, Cairn Terriers, Shar-peis, Scottish Terriers, Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzus, Wirehaired Fox Terriers, Dalmatians, Pugs, Irish Setters, Boston Terriers, Golden Retrievers, Boxers, English Setters, Labrador Retrievers, Miniature Schnauzers and Belgian Tervurens.
The author presents his information in a very honest fashion. He keeps a neutral opinion for most of the book, and respectably and openly admits when his bias is being stated. The author presents many different suggestions, many of which could be backed by my veterinarian. After reading this book, I started my dog on a couple of the allergy solutions mentioned in the book, and two weeks later his symptoms have calmed down, but not disappeared. Given that this is a holistic and more natural treatment, I am happy with the results and hope that with more time, we will see even more positive results.

I have a dog that has severe allergies and, unfortunately, is one of the 1/3 or less who have not seen significant success with allergy injections (after 2 years...sigh). But, Dr. Messonnier offers many types of therapies/treatments for dog's with skin problems/allergies. His writing is honest and direct--this book made me realize that nothing will completely "cure" the allergies--but can make my dog's life more comfortable. In addition, the author does state that most treatments may not be the "sole" form of treatment--that they have to be used in conjunction with several other treatments. Right now, my pup is trying some homeopathic remedies along with conventional ones. And, I am still trying. This little book is pretty comprehensive. It gives the WHYs along with the HOWs to treat. I disagree with the other reviewet that the author does not talk about treatment. Over half the book is on treatment. Recommended with those who struggle with the irritating and frustrating problem of canine skin allergies.Best Deals for The Allergy Solution for Dogs: Natural and Conventional Therapies
While this book is great if you simply want to learn about what allerges are, it does not give advise on how to treat the problem yourself. It will help you to have an informed discussion about the topic with your vet, but if you are wanting to learn how to treat your animal or what suppliments to use, this is not the book for you.Honest reviews on The Allergy Solution for Dogs: Natural and Conventional Therapies
I was looking for a book that would help SOLVE my problems with dogs and allergies this book just gives examples of what to look for (is it or is it not allergies) and suggests seeing the vet. Been there, done that was looking for more creative ideas than seeing the vet and putting them on steroids (the standard prescription). I will keep looking for something to resolve my dogs' allergies and skin issuesFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for The Allergy Solution for Dogs: Natural and Conventional Therapies
First, if you are reading this review because you are interested in helping your pet, please note this book was published in 2000, meaning at least 12 years ago and you should check to see if there are any newer treatments first. That said, when I took my dog to the vet just after reading this book (May 2012), the vet told me nearly identical information! The author presents his information in a very honest fashion. He keeps a neutral opinion for most of the book, and respectably and openly admits when his bias is being stated. We really like having this bowl handy. We bring it hiking with us, and to dog shows. It folds nice also. When I ordered it, the photo was different and was deceiving. The photo has since been fixed and what you see is what you get. The bowl is very small. I am changing my rating of this item from one start to 3. I have had this container for a few years now and it has been fine...until the other night. I went to get some food out and it was covered in small ants. Sure enough, inside there were thousands all over the brand new bag of food I had put in there. So be warned, though it says it is air-tight and will keep bugs out, this doesn't seem to be the case. Do a water test of filling the container with water and turning it upside-down. you'll see that it is definitely not air-tight.Honest reviews on Kennelpak Van Ness Pet Food Container

I would have given this product one star. But then I looked over at my dog and he's still trying to work the food out of it; my dog likes it, at least.
I have a 75 lb black lab mix who's a powerful chewer, so when I saw this dental chew ball for LARGE Dogs (the capitalized LARGE helped) in Petsmart, I decided to give it a go. It was 21.99 in Petsmart. It's been maybe an hour and my dog has already broken the ball in half along the seam (and is still chewing it as I type).
For something advertised as a chewing item, a dental tool no less, meant to be used "2-3 times daily," I expected it to put up much more of a fight.
Also, my dog likes the toothpaste... he'll eat it if I have some on my fingers... But he doesn't like it enough to chew the ball. Instead I stuffed the holes with plain turkey meat and some rice and that's been keeping him occupied.
Pros: I like the multiple holes. My dog uses his incisors as well as his molars to try to work food out of them, which means he's effectively scraping those areas clean (in theory).
Cons: Not tough enough. Toothpaste not enough of an incentive to chew.
My 75 lb Shepherd really enjoys this thing. It's right sized so he can work on it with no fear of choking. This version is too large for most small(er) dogs and so I can't comment on the size, the other way. The material was well made and the grooves are good for the gums, while the wholes make it nice to stuff peanut butter or any number of flavored dog treat pastes... It's good for their hygiene and a nice durable chew.
He has lost a little interest in it, but a lot of dogs do that... especially when you are constantly spoiling. For the price and quality, a great choice if you are on the fence. Your dog(s) will love you for it!

My dog is a power chewer also, and really loves the dental gel! She seems to know not to tear this toy up as she gets good stuff in it. I agree with the other reviewer in that it should be a little more tough because she has chewed part of the toy off. I have been giving it to her a couple of times a day and it's lasting longer than I thought! I like these, the toothpaste smells good, this concept is great, the size is good for my small doggies...but my furry kids just don't like them...I didn't think this would happy since my little boy (mini schnauzer) will chew on anything, but he was a little afraid of these and kind of turned off by the toothpaste in holes. My little girl (shih tzu) didn't even bother, she does have a little mouth and teeth but she didn't even try. When we started adding supplements to the dogs food, we were in a Petsmart and the only thing we could find was the GNC Brand, which if you can get it on sale is $54 for 90 tablets. and we found that we had to give out lab 1 1/2 per day, or about 40 days because the tablets crumbled when you broke them in half. so the cost was elevated at litle over $1.00 day, not much until you anualize to over $400 a year. We did the research and found Pet Naturals Hip + Joint to be comparable and more consumer price priendly. I can 1 years supply for the equivalent of one month of GNC.Product comparison very close. Do the research. And I have a 7 year old chocolate Lab that behaves like a 2 year old, full of energy.
Honest reviews on Hip and Joint for Dogs - 120 - Tablet
I've been using these for several years, since my vet told me to get my older dog (RIP) on glucosamine. I shopped and I found these to be the highest dose, for the best price. That was when I was buying them from Petco at $29.99 a bottle. Needless to say, at less than half the price, this a huge deal!I don't think you can go wrong with anything from Pet Naturals of Vermont.

I have a little Poodle who was born with only one front leg. He has a little kind of a wing on his right side. I've been noticing that he's beginning to limp a little and in the house on hardwood floors and tile he even just slides his left foot along. He's 7 years old now and I thought his left shoulder was probably getting sore from doing all the work so I bought this Hip and Joint for Dogs and I really think it has helped him. He seems to be more comfortable, walks normally and runs through the yard (as well as he can with only one front leg). We went away for a few days and I forgot his joint juice and within a couple of days he was limping again. I only gave it 4 stars because I'm kind of skeptical of these things. In another few months, if he still shows improvement and his comfort level improves I'll rewrite my review to give it 5 stars. Worth a try if your dog's in pain.
