I searched for many hay feeders and most become very messy with hay all over the cage! This one was perfect! I put the hay in the back part as he pulls out what he wants the bottom dish catches it to save it from falling into the bottom of the cage and being wasted. Its heavy duty and great size to keep hay for days! All in all my bunny loves his buffet!

I originally started out by having hay and pellets in there, so I could use the other bowl as a veggie bowl. I noticed that it didn't work too well, as the hay fell on top of the pellets and just built up over time. I decided to separate the hay and pellets instead. Works a lot better that way. The hay just falls right into the bin instead of the cage floor and the piggies can eat hay from there as well. The only problem I have is that the bin for hay is too deep and the piggies do not have access to that portion so it is wasted. I wedged in a piece of cardboard in there so it would take up that part and the hay can sit on top of it instead. It works great for me.

I looked all over for a good way to dispense hay to our new guinea pigs. This product is great. You simply cram a bunch of hay into the top of the dispenser and add a handful of pellets into the front bowl section of the dispenser. The cavies are able to pull out the hay piece by piece throughout the day. The easy open latches keep the bowl in place. It's also made of really hard plastic that prevents damage from chewing. I couldn't imagine a better way to feed the pigs.

My little piglet (guinea pig) is NOTORIOUS for tipping over his food bowl, as is every guinea pig I've ever lived with. So this bin feeder was a God Sent. It latches onto the side of the cage securely and is heavy enough to stay put. I've heard him chew on it a time or two but I see no damage whatsoever so it's very durable. There is a deep space up front for food and a tall, skinny space in back for hay. So here's why it gets 4 stars and not 5: It is quite tall for a smaller animal like a guinea pig, so I have a washcloth on the bottom of the food portion underneath the food to fill some of the space (otherwise he wouldn't be able to reach his head down to get the food). Also, I cannot use the back hay portion because again, Napoleon cannot reach it. This feeder is ideal for rabbits, but I would still recommend it to others with guinea pigs because it's sturdy, there's no more bowls tipping over, and it's cheap. Not being able to get "full" use out of it doesn't really matter. For the price and quality, it's still the best thing Napoleon and I have seen in a long time! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It serves the purpose for which I bought it however, the bars meant to keep the hay in doesn't stay in place. A little duct tape fixed that problem. The clips that came with it were cheaply made, but caribeaners are easy to replace, so I worked with that.
