Get what you pay for when you buy dog food, Wellness CORE is one of the few canned foods I will feed my dogs. I lost my Airedale to melamine poisoning, thus am a rabid label reader. When you feed canned and dry, why have non meat items in the product? Less grain is better IMO.

Wellness Core grain free is the absolute best wet food you can feed your dog. To my knowledge, it has the highest amount of protein of all canned dog food. My dogs love it, and I mean they go crazy for it and devour their dinner whenever I mix this stuff with their dry food. This product is also suitable for dogs of all life stages, including puppies, which is not the case with most canned dog food. It is expensive but worth the money. Wellness is a fantastic brand, free of by-products, bad preservatives and animal digest, which anyone in their right mind would not want to feed their dogs. A+++++

I give this food five stars because it is the best food for my Yorkshire Terrier. He was a very picky eater before I discovered this food but he's never picky with this food. I give him half a can of the small can in the morning and another half in the afternoon. Yorkies are prone to diabetes (everyone is) so to avoid his blood sugar from dropping, I feed him twice a day with a few healthy snacks in between and make sure that he gets exercise. This food is grain free so he looks lean and strong.

I have two little Yorkies that love this food! We used to feed them the cheaper stuff, until one of my little guys got bladder stones. The vet wanted to do expensive surgery but my little guy also had liver shunts and there was a good possibility that he would not survive the surgery. After I did some research, I decided to try this food hoping that his diet would help with the stones. He almost immediately improved and has had no more stones since and that was almost three years ago! I've also noticed a HUGE improvement in their energy levels! They both act like puppies again! I would highly recommend this food to anyone who wants to give their dog a better, more nutritional dog food.

I switched to this food when my cocker spaniel was having stomach problems and vomiting often. I found that the Nutro Ultra had gluten in it and other foods we had tried had a lot of grain. She is thriving on this food and has no problems anymore. She is a high energy 3 year old and her coat is beautiful since we switched. I do not give this food to our 10 year old cocker. I think that the protein level and calories are too much for an older dog, although your vet would be better able to help you make that choice.
