We got a 6oz sample in the mail. We use them as treats for our 10 pound, 13 year old miniature fox terrier. She still eats them like they are kibble crack. The best thing was there were NO digestive issues adding them to her diet, no getting sick in any way. And I really like the idea that they are lower in calorie as well as nutritious. We give her 1/2 a cup a day and also 1/2 a cup of wet dog food.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have a 9 year old chihuahua who has a sensitive stomach and has become a bit chubby. I have fed her Science Diet's Nature's Best since I got her. A few years ago, Petsmart quit carrying it, so I had to find it on-line. When I noticed it was on clearance, I became suspicious and contacted Science Diet. They quit manufacturing it January, 2012! I really hated the thought of changing foods due to her stomach issues. Of course, Science Diet recommended other products they made to change to, but some were new lines and that made me nervous.
I then considered my options. I noticed that some of Rachael Ray's line is carried at my grocery store, which would make it easy to obtain, but they didn't have the weight control version. Enter Amazon! I like having it delivered to my door, as well. My thought process on deciding on this line of food is that it has been out awhile, so I would think problems would have been discovered by now, it hasn't been out so long that they would discontinue it in the next year or two, and I really wouldn't think Rachael Ray would put her name on a food for dogs that doesn't meet her high standards. So far, the transition is going well. She is eating the food and no upsets at this time. I am still mixing her old food in, but it is mostly the new food. I would probably have her completely on the new by now if I were out of the old, but I am trying to use it up.
The label has the following information: 33% less fat and 10% fewer calories (than original Nutrish), turkey is the first ingredient, L-carnitine is included to promote a healthy weight, and 100% complete and balanced nutrition for adult dogs. I know people are concerned about where the food is made and the label says this is made in the USA. There is also a chart on the back to determine how much to feed whether you are trying to reduce or maintain their weight and pictures to determine what a healthy weight looks like. I have not noticed any weight reduction in my dog, but we haven't been using it that long. I will report back!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program First of all, my dogs love this. The food is all one color and is in an approx. 1/2 round ball like shape. The first ingredient in the Healthy Weight variety is deboned turkey, and the rest of the ingredients are dried rice and other grains, followed by dried vegetables. I didn't see anything I couldn't identify until the very end of the long list of ingredients. So, it appears to be very wholesome dog food from what I can see. One real nice thing is that part of the proceeds from this dog food go to an organization called Rachael's Rescue, where several different dog charties are supported. That's something I feel good about. I'd definitely buy this on a regular basis.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Last March when I took my Pomeranian to the vet he weighed 17.5 pounds. We put him on Rachel Ray weight control dog food and also give him 1 can of green beans a day. I took him yesterday for his shots and his weight is 14.8 pounds perfect for his size. The doctor said he is in excellent health. He loves this food I have no trouble getting him to eat it.
I highly recommend this dog food it has quality ingredients and it is priced quite competitively.I am more than pleased with the results to have a healthy food the dog loves to eat and the doctor to pronounce him in excellent health at 8 yrs of age, thanks Rachel Ray great product.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Nurtish food seems to be better than most dog foods widely available. There is a balance between convenience, price, and nutritional value. There are more wholesome foods available from your vet or from pet stores, but they are a lot pricier. This brand is available in most grocery stores, Walmart, etc, and is more nutritious than the other brands next to it on grocery store shelves. Dogs seem to like it, and this will help overweight dogs drop some weight, provided you follow portion recommendations.
