Seriously this has got to be the best thing ever. I have owned a drinking fountain for my cats for years, and they stink to clean (the fountains, not the cats).
I originally purchased the Waterboy to be able to provide the three kittizens easily while on a cross-country move (moving from Florida to Oregon, took 4 hotel nights). I had the Waterboy in the car in case the cats wanted to drink while on the road, and then at night the Waterboy was great in the hotel.
I now own a second Waterboy because my last cat fountain is finally at the end of its life, I despise cleaning said fountain, and the cats have, surprisingly, really ended up loving this thing. Two out of the three brats actually prefer to drink out of the Waterboys exclusively, ignoring the fountain completely. It's hilarious to watch them drink because each cat has figured out a different to get the well to fill up. My big ol' Maine Coon sits on top of the body of the Waterboy, his weight pushes water into the well. The little black one shoves the Waterboy all over the living room, the movement causing the well to fill up.
Anyway, my fountain is about dead and I won't be replacing it, because the two Waterboys are fantastic and hold plenty of water and the kittizens approve. I would definitely recommend to any dog or cat owner.

We have two, one in the boat and one in the car. They have been a great asset while traveling. We take it in to the hotel so we don't have to deal with accidental spills. On the boat, in heavy seas (12 foot swells) it doesn't spill a drop. It needs to be secured so it doesn't slide around. In the car I use a rolled up towel or small luggage. If it slides to the edge of the platform and tips the wrong way the possibility of a modest spill is pretty high. So long as it stays on a reasonably level surface it will have no problem. It can be stored standing up but must be secured because if it falls on its face it will splash a bit. Picture it this way; Flat on any side (BUT THE TOP WITH THE HANDLE)will be dripless, but at angles it can dribble a bit. It's pretty much dog spill proof. It would be really wonderful if it came with a lid for storage for those times when you can't secure it very well.
