My dog has always been what I thought was picky. She would eat regularly enough but all too often, she would refuse to eat for hours. She'd sit there with her stomach growling away, the acid would build up in her empty stomach, and then she'd need to barf. Stupid me...it took me too long to research and realize that her aversion to food was likely due to the grain included in the ingredients. When you think about it, it makes total sense. Dogs are carnivores. Their bodies were never designed to know how to digest grains. A lot of dogs have varying degrees of allergies to those grains. I'm now fairly certain that my dog avoiding her food had nothing to do with being picky and everything to do with how crappy the food was making her feel. My dog has been on the Wilderness diet for 2 months now. She now eats her food immediately. She hasn't thrown up AT ALL. Her ear infections have gone away and there is a marked improvement in how shiny her fur is. As another reviewer mentioned with their dog, the size of my dog's stool have significantly smaller and she no longer has gas. I looked at the Raw Diet but given the logistics of being able to do that meal plan (likely need a 2nd freezer, keeping everything sanitary, etc), the Wilderness diet is a great alternative. Yes, it's more expensive for smaller bag, but given the benefits, I find it completely worth the money. However, I'd recommend buying it in the store (both PetCo and PetSmart have it). I've yet to find any real advantage to buying this food online given that even if there's a "discount" the shipping isn't free so it still winds up being as expensive if not moreso.

Every dog is different so results with a given food will vary, but Blue Wilderness has been great for me.

While my dog was eating higher end foods (Science and Innova), he had recurring problems with loose stools and outright diarreah. His gas could (and did) clear a room. On the Blue Wilderness, he has small, firm stools and little or no gas. He's also stopped biting at his side which he had done since I bought him. So I'm convinced he had a gluten allergy. I guess I could have addressed that with a rice based food, but the Blue Wilderness is so good that I'm certainly sticking with it.

I did the transition from Innova to Blue Wilderness over a couple of months, going from 25% Blue Wilderness to 50% to 75% to 100%.

It is pricey but because of the small amount of filler and high concentration of nutrition, I feed less--4 cups a day for an energetic, one year old, 98 lb. Doberman.

I also did extensive online research from places that did a scientific analysis of dog foods and found the Blue Wilderness consistently got the best evaluations. So I'm happy. And Knucklehead is happy.

I wanted to try this food and see if my dog likes it. He loves it. I have also since found this product at Tractor Supply Center or TSC. The price there is about the same with out the shipping handling fee.

What can I say? Blue Buffalo is the top end of dog foods, and wilderness formula raises the level even higher. My dog is worth spending the extra cash all day long. Top notch ingredients via Blue Buffalo's proven quality and good delivery price via Petco/Amazon makes this a return buy roughly every month for my dog.
